David Roberts

Managing Director

David has specialised in recruiting lawyers for over 10 years and prior to establishing Kingswood Global headed the Asia Pacific operation of another legal search firm based in Hong Kong.

He has successfully completed a variety of partner, director and team moves for a wide range of law firms as well as leading investment banks and professional services firms. This included a retained search which culminated in a two equity partner, two salaried partner and associate team move as well as a number of other partner and associate moves in both the Asia Pacific region and Europe.

Because of his position in the market, most of his clients use David on either a retained or an exclusive basis although he regularly assists lawyers of all levels who have been referred to him, conducting job searches on their behalf. His team work on global legal mandates covering Hong Kong, Singapore, PRC, Australia, Japan, Thailand, Philippines, US and the UK.

David first visited Asia with his family in 1993 and returned regularly ever since until deciding to relocate to the region permanently. He spent the early part of his career recruiting lawyers in London for a fortune 500 specialist recruitment consultancy where he also held management positions.

Spencer Roberts

Spencer has been working in Asia for nearly 20 years. He has held senior postings with both Jones Lang LaSalle and CB Richard Ellis in the capacity of Regional and Country Managing Director in Thailand, Singapore, Philippines, China and Indonesia, and for six years was the Regional Director covering the Asia Pacific Region. He is also a former member of Jones Lang LaSalle's Regional Investor Services Group and concurrently served as the firm's first Client Relationship Program Director for Asia Pacific.

A former board member of The British Chamber of Commerce Thailand, Spencer has recruited a variety of mid to senior level professionals across the Asia Pacific Region. His senior hierarchy contacts span the legal, banking and corporate sectors.

John Sheehan

Executive Board Member

John Sheehan is a former Executive Director of US investment bank Lehman Brothers, based in the European headquarters in London and Asia.

John followed financial crisis around the world for a decade, specializing in distressed debt acquisition & loan servicing, corporate restructuring, real estate investment & lending and structured finance.

He worked in Asia Pacific after the 1997 crisis until 2005 and thereafter in Europe and Latin America gaining global experience through transactions in twenty different jurisdictions. Disenchanted with Lehman, John left in August 2008, one month before they declared bankruptcy, and returned to South East Asia.

John continues to provide consultancy & advisory services to corporations, financial institutions and government regarding debt, non-performing loans and assets, and loan restructuring. His network of contacts in these organisations, as well as with lawyers with exposure to this kind of work, has been cultivated over the last couple of decades.
